Southwest Vermont Farmer Resilience Cohort
Southwest Vermont Farmer Resilience Cohort
In the spring of 2026 NOFA-VT, supported by the Bennington, Rutland, and Poultney-Mettowee Conservation districts, led a cohort of farmers in Bennginton and Rutland County to collectively learn about strengthening resilience on farms and in the wider region. The group met for four on-farm gatherings focused on strengthening farm and community resilience through skill-building, coordination, and collaboration. Cohort members expanded their toolkits for building resilience while learning from each other and creating a network of peer support.
Following the conclusion of the four gatherings, the farmers in the cohort decided to continue the gatherings and network they had created to further collaborate and support one another. If you are interested in joining this group, please reach out to andie@rnrcd.org to learn more. All farmers in the region are welcome; dairy or vegetable, large or small, organic or conventional. We all have something to share and something to learn from one another!
